The Pontifical University of the Holy Cross was born from the desire of St. Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer, its founder, to promote in Rome a higher center of ecclesiastical studies at the service of the whole Church.

The specific mission of the University is to deepen intellectual content and anthropological wealth
of faith, at the same time establishing a dialogue with contemporary culture.
